Well, better late than never I guess... Army duty is over, and here I am, back at the mag and back updating this blog. These past 9 months were pretty boring since I had almost no Internet connection, and I was away both from home and family and from the "industry" as a whole. Right now I have a brand new PC, with a Dell 24" TFT which I am in love with I will update more often from now on, so stay tuned
Well this is the last week I will be working for the mag, since early next month I have to join the army here in Greece. Having Doom3 waiting for me in my house sure doesn't do any good to my productivity Apart from all that, I have to continue benchmarking the 6800 cards; I think i included too many benchmarks in my review, but hopefully it will make a pretty interesting read when I finish it. The 16-colour problem (aka the driver is not loading at startup) has given me headaches in Saturd...
So after toying with an FX5950 for a brief period of time some months ago (and totally disliking it), I got the chance to get to play with the latest two nVidia offerings: the 6800GT and the 6800U. So I installed the "monster" last night (that's the Ultra) in my main rig (AthlonXP 3000+, nForce2-400 mobo, 512MB RAM) since there is a Rage3D review featuring the latest high end cards in the works. Impressions? Very good. Since I have a 480W PSU from Thermaltake the power issue was...well......
